Hannah Strmic

Bruce was born and raised in Belvidere, Illinois, and has been playing guitar since he was eight years old. He joined his first band, “The Current Event” in 5th grade and got the bug to play and perform. In college he played the coffee house circuit at Illinois State University where he played with Suzy Bogguss. He also toured with Dan Holmes in a duo they called "Bruce & Dan" for seven years. Bruce played and sang with Allen Asbury in concert at the First United Methodist Church in Belvidere and regularly performs with Holmes Productions. He and his wife Cindy play for the First United Methodist Church in Belvidere. They have two sons that both graduated from college with music degrees. Bruce has been teaching guitar for over 10 years. He met Hannah while playing at the Kirkland United Methodist Church and a couple years later they have decided to take their duo on the road. They call themselves "Road to Roam" and play a mix of original and popular Christian music as well as secular music from the 60's to present. "I feel extremely blessed to be able play music with a good friend and a great singer, musician, and song writer like Hannah."

 


Hannah grew up in Wonder Lake, Illinois. She has been teaching piano for twelve years starting in McHenry, Illinois. She moved to Deerfield when she attended Trinity International University. During that time she taught piano and sang in a traveling choir that took her through many states and a few different countries. She has been singing in churches since she was seven years old. She started playing piano when she inherited her grandmother's piano at the age of nine. When she was only 14 she was asked to play piano for the First Baptist Church of McHenry. Since then she has played for many different churches and currently plays for the United Methodist Church in Kirkland, Illinois. When Hannah isn't teaching or playing somewhere you will find her with her three year old daughter either at the local park or library. Hannah and Bruce met at the church in Kirkland and have enjoyed playing together ever since. Hannah She writes a lot of the music that Road to Roam performs and records.  Hannah just recently became the new owner of Forest City Music Studio in Rockford, IL.  They specialize in voice & musical instrument instruction.
